Captain Fancy is the name of a comic book series that is featured in Big Hero 6: The Series. The book is about a cab driver named Lash Looper, who secretly goes by the superhero alias Captain Fancy.
Fred sometimes uses the comic to help his friends, as the titled character faces trials similar to the team, and has tips which have helped them. Like the fact why Karmi doesn't know that Hiro and her superhero crush are the same person, while everyone else thought that Fred was looking for away to defeat High Voltage at the time.

- The rare issue and its number in the series is the name of a first season episode, "Issue 188". Like the episode, Captain Fancy faces a mother-daughter duo that have a sigher "weapon" that challenges his battle with them.
- The reason that the 188 issue of the series became rare is due to the images that many found "disturbing", which had gotten fans to destroy copies of that one issue while one single copy survived the chaos. Fred had tried to buy it from an online auction, but the power to the Frederickson Mansion was cut and Richardson Mole bought it from right under him.
- In "Obake Yashiki", Fred wears a Captain Fancy costume for Halloween.
- The title hero shares many similarities to Superman, such as his costume having a letter symbol, using a cape, having laser eyes and the ability of flight, and wearing glasses to disguise himself in his civilian alter-ego.
- The issue that is seen in "The Bot-Fighter", referenced Hiro's undercover plan that involved him temporally returning to the bot fighting world, as well as making Fred believe that undercover work involves a moustache.
- In "Countdown to Catastrophe", Fred uses a Captain Fancy action figure to serve as one of the pieces in his plan of attack layout.
