Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber; December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor, and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.

He created and co-created many iconic comic book characters, most of which belong to Marvel. Lee was known to cameo in several films, namely those based on Marvel Comics due to his longtime association with the company. Lee voiced Fred's father in the post-credits scene of Big Hero 6 and reprised his role in Big Hero 6: The Series as a recurring character throughout Season 1.

On November 12, 2018, Lee passed away in Los Angeles, California of pneumonia at the age of 95. Following his death, his official website became a tribute wall for fans to write and share their thoughts.

The Season 2 episode "Supersonic Sue," which featured Mr. Frederickson, was dedicated to Lee. It was also the final episode which he recorded for, although his character continued to appear in some more episodes of Season 2. In Season 3, his character continued to exist but was only shown through pictured appearances and mentions.

  • An early version of Yokai was named "Dr. Martin Lieber."
  • While he was not involved in the creation of Marvel's Big Hero 6, Lee co-created X the Unknowable, who became one of Big Hero 6's enemies in the comics.
  • In the Baymax manga, a news reporter with the appearance of Stan Lee can be seen in the final chapter.
